Conservation Takes Collaboration

Protecting the landscapes, wildlife, and working lands of the Southern Sierra and San Joaquin Valley has never been the work of one organization alone. Every conserved acre, restored habitat, and community event is made possible through collaboration—bringing together landowners, volunteers, donors, businesses, and conservation partners with a shared commitment to the future of our region.
That spirit of collaboration is what makes Sequoia Riverlands Trust’s newest partnership especially meaningful. SRT is excited to join 1% for the Planet as an Environmental Partner, becoming part of a global network of businesses and environmental organizations working together for a healthier planet.
What Is 1% for the Planet?
Founded in 2002, 1% for the Planet brings together businesses that commit to giving at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes. The organization helps connect these businesses with vetted environmental nonprofits, creating opportunities for collaboration and support.
As an Environmental Partner, SRT is part of this network of trusted conservation organizations. The partnership creates new opportunities to connect with businesses that share a commitment to protecting nature while supporting meaningful conservation work.
Working Together for Conservation
At Sequoia Riverlands Trust, conservation has always been rooted in partnership. Protecting important landscapes requires collaboration between landowners, community members, volunteers, donors, and organizations that share a common vision.

From preserving working farmland and protecting wildlife habitat to restoring native ecosystems and connecting people with nature, every conservation effort depends on people coming together around a shared purpose.
Joining 1% for the Planet builds on that foundation, strengthening connections with businesses that want to make a positive environmental impact and helping expand support for conservation efforts throughout the region.
Looking Ahead
As SRT continues working to protect and restore natural landscapes throughout the Southern Sierra and San Joaquin Valley, partnerships will remain an essential part of that work.
Becoming an Environmental Partner with 1% for the Planet is another step toward building a stronger network of people and organizations dedicated to conservation. Together, these collaborations help ensure that the lands, waters, and wildlife of our region can be protected for generations to come.
