August 15 @ 7:45 pm – 9:15 pm
Enjoy a relaxed evening outdoors with Celestial Cinema, a nature-inspired movie night at Dry Creek Preserve. This family-friendly event pairs an inspiring documentary film with a beautiful outdoor setting. Come unwind, learn, and connect with the natural world under the stars.

The featured film is Saving the Dark, a 56-minute documentary directed by Sriram Murali. Through stunning visuals and compelling stories, the film explores the growing issue of light pollution and its impacts on wildlife, ecosystems, human health, and our ability to experience the night sky. It also highlights communities and individuals working to protect dark skies for future generations, offering an inspiring look at how small actions can help preserve one of our most valuable natural resources.
This free event will take place 7:45-9:15 PM, with the film beginning promptly at 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get settled and enjoy the preserve at dusk. Telescopes will also be available for viewing the night sky. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, cozy layers, and your favorite snacks and beverages. To help protect the preserve, please pack out everything you bring in.
Whether you’re passionate about conservation, fascinated by the night sky, or simply looking for a unique evening outdoors, Celestial Cinema offers an opportunity to experience nature from a different perspective.
