Carrizo Ride 2026

March 21 @ 8:00 am 5:00 pm

Gravel Bikes Only — 95% of the route is on gravel roads (not suitable for traditional road bikes)

Ride the open road. Protect the open land.

There are places in California where the sky feels bigger, the wind feels cleaner, and the road stretches out like possibility. The Carrizo Plain is one of them.

The Carrizo Ride is more than a cycling event—it’s an invitation to experience one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the state while supporting the protection of the lands and waters that define California’s heartland.

On Saturday, March 21, riders will gather for a day of movement, connection, and purpose. Two gravel only route options offer something for both seasoned cyclists and those looking for a meaningful, scenic challenge. Every mile supports land conservation in the Tulare Basin and beyond.

  • Event Date: Saturday, March 21, 2026
  • Check In Opens: 7:00 AM | Ride Begins: 8:00 AM
  • Starting Point: Diefenderfer Ranch (Exact coordinates/address will be provided after tickets have been purchased)

Why Ride?

Because open space matters.
Because farmland and wildlife habitat deserve protection.
Because being on a bike in wide-open country reminds us what we’re working to preserve.

This ride raises awareness and support for land conservation efforts that protect working lands, water resources, and wildlife corridors, ensuring future generations can experience places like this the way we do today.

What You’ll Experience

  • Expansive views across the Carrizo Plain
  • Support stations with water, drink mix & snacks
  • 95% gravel road terrain — gravel bikes recommended / road bikes not advised
  • A supportive and welcoming cycling community
  • The satisfaction of riding for a cause that matters
  • The feeling of contributing to something bigger than yourself
  • Post-ride lunch provided by Sequoia Riverlands Trust

Whether you’re chasing distance, soaking in the scenery, or riding alongside friends, this day is about aligning passion with purpose.

The Impact of Your Ride

Every registration supports conservation work that protects farmland, strengthens water sustainability, and safeguards wildlife habitat across California’s heartland.

When you ride, you help keep these landscapes open not just for recreation, but for ranchers, farmers, wildlife, and the communities that depend on them.

This is what it means to belong to the land.
