Junio 6 @ 8:00 am – 10:30 am
Curious about the birds that call the preserve home? Join fellow bird enthusiasts for a welcoming morning of birding, learning, and community science. This event offers a chance to slow down, explore the preserve, and contribute valuable observations to the California Bird Atlas — a statewide effort helping researchers and conservationists better understand bird populations across California.

The morning will begin with an introduction to the California Bird Atlas project, including an overview of how the program works, why bird observations are important, and how participants can contribute data. Afterward, the group will head out onto the preserve trails for guided birding and hands-on practice documenting observations in the field.
This free event is part of the California Bird Atlas “Big Weekend,” designed to introduce community members to the project and encourage continued participation in bird monitoring efforts throughout the state. Birders of all experience levels are welcome, from complete beginners to longtime bird enthusiasts.
