(VISALIA, CA) - A few recent staff changes mark a new era for the Visalia-based land trust. New leadership and stewardship staff were recently welcomed.
The Board of Directors announced the appointment of Logan Robertson Huecker, PhD, to the post of Executive Director. Logan previously served as Advancement Officer, joining SRT in October 2020.
"Logan will continue the legacy of SRT as an effective steward of San Joaquin Valley resources," said SRT Board Chair Rod Meade, of San Diego, "and she will be key to SRT’s ongoing transition to the exciting new and emerging opportunities for stewardship created by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and Multi-Purpose Land Repurposing Program, among others."
Logan resides in Three Rivers with her family.
Austin Fontanilla, who had served as SRT Land Stewardship Associate since September, 2020, assumed the position of Conservation Project Manager in September, 2021. He joined SRT after serving three years as a consulting utility forester for utilities. Austin is a resident of the Visalia area.
The opening for a Land Stewardship Associate created by Austin's promotion was filled by SRT newcomer Gregory Liebau. Gregory's background in agriculture makes him a perfect fit for the ag easement monitoring and other stewardship tasks. In addition to his degrees in history and natural resources, he is currently enrolled in Johns Hopkins University Cultural Management masters program.
Please join us in heartily welcoming these talented professionals to their new positions!
Lastly, SRT marked the retirement of longtime Office Coordinator Marilyn Martin, who officially completed her service to SRT on October 1. Martin joined the organization in 2014 after she left her longtime position with California Citrus Mutual. "The organization would like to wish Marilyn well in her retirement years, and express our gratitude for her many years of service to SRT," said Logan Robertson Huecker, PhD, new SRT Executive Director.
