March 25 at 9AM-1PM
Herbert Wetland Prairie Preserve

EVENT POSTPONED - Please continue to check our website and social media accounts for more updates. Thank you!

SRT is opening up James K. Hebert Wetland Prairie Preserve for a Vernal Pool Wildflower Walk this year! This preserve is generally closed to the public, and is only open for one day for this very special event! Join us on March 25, from 9 AM - 1 PM, to learn more about the unique geology and ecology of the preserve, check out some cool vernal pools and the plants and animals that depend on them, and explore a preserve that is rarely open!

This event will be self-guided, with multiple staff and volunteer docents on site to answer any questions or share information about the preserve. There will be bathrooms on site! Please remember to dress accordingly (in layers) for the event, and bring water (there is no potable water on site). The preserve is very large, and the vernal pools are quite distance from the entrance, so if you want to see them, please be prepared for a long walk (20-30 minutes) over uneven terrain.

We are encouraging RSVPs, but they are not required. We are requesting optional donations for participants - $15 for non-members of SRT, $10 for members of SRT, and $5 for under 18. 12 and under are free! Thank you for supporting our mission, and for promoting conservation in California for years to come!

For more information on the event, please feel free to email the Education Department at education@sequoiariverlands.org.
