SRT hosts a variety of events every month of the year, from preserve talks with experts to dog walks to a 5K run on Earth Day.
Check out our calendar for what’s happening when.
In the spring, we host wildflower walks on our preserves so you can see our Valley when it’s the most lush and green – and yellow, orange and purple. On the Saturday nearest Earth Day in April we host a 5K run at Kaweah Oaks Preserve, letting runners get close to nature and off of concrete. SRT also takes part in the City of Visalia’s annual Earth Day celebration.
Come summer, we host fishing days for SRT members at Dry Creek Preserve and Blue Oak Ranch, plus summer camps and internships for young people. We plan to start doing movies in the park at KOP in the near future as well.
Fall begins with our signature event, Evening Under the Oaks. Friends and fans gather under the Event Area oak tree at KOP to meet, eat and play as the sun sets and the stars come out above. Each year’s entertainment will tell a story of the land we love so well.
Later, we celebrate Halloween at KOP, while gathering volunteers for Make A Difference Day. Our Native Plant Nursery at Dry Creek will open for fall plant sales to the public on four days.
Winter may bring rain or fog, but it’s also time for some of the best hiking and nature viewing at our preserves. Take a walk after a big family gathering or meal and reconnect with the outdoors world. And don’t forget the SRT Holiday Open House at our Visalia office, for a good time to be had by all.
