Help Make A Difference at KOP

Sequoia Riverlands Trust believes in the power of people to make a difference in their community, which is why we love taking part in Make A Difference Day. This year, the event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 22, and we invite you to come take part with us at Kaweah Oaks Preserve from 9 a.m. to noon that day..
KOP has been adversely affected by the ongoing California drought, but that hasn't affected its being a place people love to visit and be inspired by. We want to help make it beautiful again for the hundreds of students who come to KOP for field trips, as well as the thousands who visit every year to hike, enjoy nature, or even have a small gathering.
To that end, we'll be planting native species, making plant cages, installing irrigation lines, replacing steps, cleaning and staining benches, restoring the Native Garden and starting our new Butterfly Garden near the picnic area as part of Make A Difference Day, one of the largest days of service in the nation. This event, annual since 1992, is all about making the world a better place by starting in one's own community.
If you'd like to sign up, visit the MADD website at http://www.makeadifferenceday.com/dashboard/project/kaweah-oaks-preserve-planting-and-clean-up-day. Or just stop by and we'll get you going - no need to bring tools, just wear comfy clothes, boots or closed-toe shoes and bring gloves. We'll have a special thank-you for those who help us out, too.
