Land Trust looks to President to back critical land and water issues

Visalia, CA – Soapy Mulholland, Executive Director of the Sequoia Riverlands Trust today released the following statement in advance of the president’s State of the Union address.

“In President Obama’s State of the Union address I hope he continues to support the Land and Water Conservation Fund and other initiatives dealing with climate change and conservation connectivity.”

“I hope the President remains a strong supporter of US produced food protecting the economic viability of ranch and farmland throughout the nation.”

“And finally I hope the President talks to the nation about how critical it is that we protect and conserve our public lands to help create and support jobs associated with recreation, sustainable land management, farming and agriculture, and of course, tourism.”
