Whether you enjoy drawing\, painting\, mixed media\, or simply experimenting with new creative ideas\, this event encourages participants to express themselves and create something uniquely their own. \n\n\n\nArt materials will be provided\, but participants are welcome to bring their favorite supplies if they prefer. No prior art experience is necessary. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, July 18 | 8:00–11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin a morning of harvesting elderberries at Kaweah Oaks Preserve! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis year’s harvest will help support upcoming fundraising events\, including Evening Under the Oaks and the Holiday Market. Participants will assist with gathering elderberries while learning more about this native plant and its ecological importance\, and take home a small bag of berries as a thank you for their participation. \n\n\n\nNo experience is necessary. This family-friendly event pairs an inspiring documentary film with a beautiful outdoor setting. Come unwind\, learn\, and connect with the natural world under the stars. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe featured film is Saving the Dark\, a 56-minute documentary directed by Sriram Murali. Through stunning visuals and compelling stories\, the film explores the growing issue of light pollution and its impacts on wildlife\, ecosystems\, human health\, and our ability to experience the night sky. It also highlights communities and individuals working to protect dark skies for future generations\, offering an inspiring look at how small actions can help preserve one of our most valuable natural resources. \n\n\n\nThis free event will take place 7:45-9:15 PM\, with the film beginning promptly at 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get settled and enjoy the preserve at dusk. Telescopes will also be available for viewing the night sky. Feel free to bring blankets\, chairs\, cozy layers\, and your favorite snacks and beverages.
