SUMMARY:Celebration of Life for Greg Collins
DESCRIPTION:Come gather beneath the valley oaks at Kaweah Oaks Preserve on Friday\, October 30\, at 3:00 PM to remember Greg Collins\, who died on August 6\, 2026\, at age 76. Greg was a founding member of the Four Creeks Land Trust\, one of the three community land trusts that came together to become Sequoia Riverlands Trust. He later served as SRT’s board president\, and he received the Alan George Conservation Award in 2024. Over more than three decades on the Visalia City Council\, including four years as mayor\, he pushed for a city that grew around its downtown and protected the land around it. He championed scenic oak corridors\, helped save the open space at Kaweah Oaks\, started an oak tree nursery\, and supported groundwater recharge and farmland preservation. \n\n\n\nThe service is open to the public\, and friends\, family\, and community members are all welcome to share in honoring his life and the land he loved.
