Nature Preserves
Recreation, education and working landscapes
Sequoia Riverlands Trust (SRT) owns and manages six nature preserves in the San Joaquin Valley's Tulare County.
These nature preserves, which total more than 4,000 acres, protect special natural characteristics of the regional landscape including blue oak woodlands, valley oak riparian forests, sycamore alluvial woodlands, grasslands, wetlands, wildlife and rare or endangered plant species.
SRT replenishes and maintains the land by practicing traditional land stewardship methods such as livestock grazing and propagation of San Joaquin Valley native plant species.
SRT keeps all of its nature preserves on county tax rolls in order to support the economic prosperity of the region.
Our nature preserves provide outdoor environmental education opportunities to students of all ages. We lead elementary school tours, host high school educational restoration work days, encourage graduate level studies on the land, and lead monthly guided walks for the general public.
